About Us

Masterworks Chorale is a mixed voice ensemble comprised of singers from the Toledo area. It strives to skillfully and professionally perform a diverse variety of choral literature and provide its audiences and members with an enriching and fulfilling musical experience.

Founded in the fall of 1972 by Benjamin Locke and his mother, Rose Mary Locke, the Chorale has premiered several compositions by local and world-renowned composers and sponsors annual high school internships and choral workshops.

Masterworks Chorale is overseen by Tim Cloeter, a conductor and singer with more than twenty years of experience in higher education, teaching conducting, choral literature, diction, music theory, and aural skills, and leading choirs that have consistently been invited to perform at music conferences and on concert series. Cloeter has led the Chorale since 2013, and he also serves as director of music at Perrysburg First United Methodist Church.
